Pastor Ricky Townsend and his wife Vickie felt the call to move to Townsend in the year 2006. Leaving their daughters behind in their native home of Naples, Florida they packed up everything and left jobs, family and everything they had always known as home. Their daughters and son-in-law followed two years later and moved to Tennessee as well.
Upon arrival in Townsend, they searched out several churches in the area only to be told of the Lord, “no, not here”. Having breakfast at a local restaurant they met a pastor and was invited to visit that church. And after meeting that pastor, they knew that they had found their home church and soon became involved in the ministry. Several years later Ricky was set in as an elder of the church. In 2019 he was ordained as Associate Pastor and is currently serving as the Pastor of Community Church of Townsend and Vickie is the Church Administrator.
